ahhh..... wrong grasshopper.
you may not see them all the time, but they would have the most "clean" look when you did look under there. When you said you knew what ones you wanted- I thought you knew the sound as well.

I'm sure this will spark a debate, but I worked part time
in a Muffler Shop for 3 years and heard just about all of
them and have had several different brands as well. I'm
going with Magnaflows. (What I had w/ the 72 was GQ)

I knew you liked the Magnaflows and had them on GQ. I switched to Magnaflows on my truck last summer and I'm real happy with them. I still like the sound of Flowmasters too, though

Yeah Matt, I like the Flow
Sound a lil better myself,
but the interior hum they
make at certain speeds
is why I went other way.

13 - Good score on 40's

Yeah, I had 50 series 3-chambers on my old 86. It wasn't very loud at all. It had a nice, deep, mellow tone.

$ is getting in the way, so for now it looks
like she's getting a quicky job from a Local
exhaust shop. (Cheap Muffs & Turn Downs)

I can always redo it later when $ permits.

The only thing I don't like about my Magnaflows is they're almost too quiet at low rpms. They sing a nice tune at WOT, but not quite gnarly enough at idle. I just got to hear some Borlas at the RTTH event this past weekend on Kyle and Stacy Tucker's Camaros. :punk: I see an upgrade in my trucks future!!!

Any of you guys have experience with cutouts? I'd love to setup my exhaust with a nice loud rumble but since i work nights I have to "sneak" into my neighborhood at odd hours. If I get ambitious I might setup my exhaust with two mufflers and a selector valve between them, one for loud daytime use, the other for stealth night ops. ...and to keep it on topic, what would be a really quiet muffler? Grab one of the big suitcase mufflers from the local junkyard?

A factoryish one should do the trick... if you are going to go that route, I'd run headers with a dump and add your queit exhaust that way... just like the old rods or gassers, just run two systems, could definately get ticky trying to run all that pipe though

My large case Magnaflows are pretty quite at idle and low rpm speeds. I always thought turbos were the best mufflers ;)
