Post Very Upset w/ Hagerty Insurance
Last year we argued over stock vs. modified
policies and I had to take a modified policy.

While I thought it was extremely high for a
year, exactly what's it worth in a total loss.

Got my invoice and it's gone up by $292

I'm pissed, now I gotta shop insurance !!!!!

Post Re: Very Upset w/ Hagerty Insurance
Dear Mr. Coats:

Thank you for contacting Hagerty. We appreciate your feedback, and understand your concern.

Unfortunately due to an increase in claims and losses on vehicles in the state of Tennessee, we did have both liability and physical damage rate increases in this state for certain factors, including different rates for each age tier and also for vehicles rated as having traits similar to those of low-rider vehicles. Since we do not have the ability to rate policies individually and do not have a claims free discount available, unfortunately the rate increase did affect any applicable TN policy.

We do value you as a client and while we would hate to see you go, we do understand that you must make a decision that is within your best interest. However, if you are interested then we would also be happy to look into other ways to lower the cost of your policy.

If you have further questions or if we may be of additional assistance, please feel free to call our office at (800) 922-4050 and any one of our agents will be happy to help you. We are open Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8pm, Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm and Sunday 12pm - 4pm (Eastern).

Sincerely,

Alex

Unfortunately, vehicles get grouped. My Cav that got run over was considered a "Sports" car.

Yup, and most of the others I have been quoted
by so far won't insure the Blazer. Too modified.

I haven't had anything but a good experience with Hagerty so far. I switched to them from Condon & Skelly. Some are modified too.

Well you see what I posted,
he said ALL TN policies will
be affected, mine went from
$447 to $739, not paying it!

I guess we will know when
yours is do if it's true, or it
was just a line a BS to me.

Well crap! My policy, for 5 vehicles, went up $245 from last year.

I made a very clear and concise phone call to Hagerty.

I will proceed with my current policy, I will be looking into other coverage this time next year.

Craig keep us posted on your findings.

I could live with that
if I had 5 covered, it
was excessive for 1.

Still looking into it.

Post Re: Very Upset w/ Hagerty Insurance
Update: We went thru the policy vehicle by vehicle and it was brought to my attention that they will do "seasonal" coverage. Since the Camaro is in need of repairs and will not be driven for an undetermined amount of time, they dropped the collision coverage and refunded me $100.

I would only do this if I knew for sure that the vehicle would not be on the road at all during that period of time. Too much risk for the reward.

I think this is something they offer for the folks up north that truly put their vehicles away for months at a time.

I know this doesn't help most people around here, but I thought it was a nice service they offer to their customers.

I might as well junk my Blazer before I spend money on it. I couldn't afford insurance for it restored.
