Post Cracked Piston in my 250
I have a cracked piston in my 250. Number two shows 35 psi while the rest show 157 plus or minus 2. That is not a huge problem since I have a spare piston. My question is does anyone know if anybody makes a one-piece oil pan gasket? I figured if I have to take apart the bottom I might as well replace / upgrade the gaskets and seals while it is apart.

Are you sure it's a piston?

Pretty sure Woody. I have the head off and there are no signs of head gasket issues and the combustion chamber holds alcohol. Do not see any problems in the cylinder wall. There is a small place in the piston that may be a small crack. So that is what I am basing the thought process on. That and the fact the distributor gear was wore so bad it jumped time. I got that fixed - new HEI and gear. But did not run up to par after the replacement.

Yep, sounds like a piston/ring issue. Hope you get it going soon.

Thanks for confirming my opinion. I have a day of volunteer work tomorrow but I should have it apart and ready to press the wrist pin Sunday afternoon. Maybe have it running next weekend if all goes well.
