Post New ride, not GM... Dont hate
Hey guys, I have been kinda busy with life for a while, so I havent gotten to visit with yall much

But I thought I would show you my new car, I had to get something that was dependable & got good MPG, so here it is

1989 Honda CRX Si, with SOHC ZC engine
I get about 30 in town & around 40 highway

I've never had a honda before, but have always heard good things about them, & so far I like this one
I always liked the way CRXs looked, so when i saw this one for sale locally I was excited

Now I just gotta finish the 89 GMC I got & sell it so I can pay for this car & work on my old 67 Sinister... Love me some BBC, you just cant beat torque & the lil honda just doesnt have it lol (although it is fun beings how its around 2000 lbs with 130 HP with a 7k rev limit)

Used to want a CRX bad in High School, and Honda's are dependable and good for gas mileage. Had an Accord in College and drove the wheels off of it. Good vehicles.

Now you just need to spray bomb the whole thing flat black to match the front bumper...

I think the first gen CRX hold the record for the best MPG of any production non hybrid car. I seen one for sale not long ago and thought about it but not enough seats for the kids. I do like the seat wouldnt mind having them for my car.

Welp, Im not a Honda guy

Stupid thing broke in a way that could have killed me & my friend that was riding with me
Thing that pisses me off the most is that the guy I bought it from almost HAD to know there was something wrong with it & I think he knew full well that there was something wrong with it

Anywho, the rear cross member broke in half !!!!

I was driving around with my buddy, went on I20 & played with a acura at about 100 MPH
Drove around for about 100 miles
Tire was just rubbing occasionally & I figured it was cuz I was loaded down pretty good

So it starts getting worse on the way home, so we pulled into a gas station & I rolled my fender lip so I might not have a blow out
Then we notice that it rubs BAD when backing up & at that point I knew it wasnt cuz I was loaded down
so we went to my shop & jacked it up, and I about flipped out when I saw the cross member hanging down
So I had my buddy pick up on the wheel & it moved up about 4 inches, go to the other side, solid as a rock
No wonders it was rubbing !!!

So now I have to fix that & make it safe again before I can drive it, but Ima sell the thing
No chevy will do that crap to ya, Chevys are like a good horse, they will go out of their way to keep you safe

Yeah me too

I got to looking at it & I think the only way to fix it & it be safe is to cut all the spot welds & weld a new one in
So I gotta see if someone makes them or if Ima have to cut one out of another car

Well I traded the 17s off my car for another CRX shell

So now I gotta cut all the spot welds on both cross members & weld the good one into my car
I think after I get it fixed I might as well keep it, at least for a while... After all I did buy it so I could get some good MPGs
