Got the 2wd crossmember striped and ready to install yesterday, have a couple of rivets to remove from the 4wd frame and start getting it positioned and drill holes.

Also, Roy-O brought me two rally wheels, tail gate and Hood yesterday. This morning, my 200-4R and seats arrived.

Post Re: My 74 Blazer Build
Things have been a little slow this week, Wednesday is a short day and Thursday we had a luncheon for our students. We did get the tail gate changed out and the guts from the old one started back in. Made a template from the 2wd frame and got the 4wd frame marked and started drilling the holes. The engine is almost ready for paint. The students really seem to enjoy this and although it is not a very "technical" job, it does teach them to use tools, problem solve and work as a team. I did decide not to use the carb I had, found one on evil bay for $20 plus the ride, should be here Monday or Tuesday, it has the correct linkage and plus, all the parts are there.

Well they did call school off Monday but in retrospect, it was not a good call. Now for the update, Front crossmember is installed, picked up the rear end from Chris this morning and have it dehorned and ready to slide under for fitment. Three of the wheels are glass beaded and the fourth is almost done so they may be painted by the end of the day tomorrow. engine is ready for paint, still have to build the carb (gave up on the one I had found a good core on the "bay"). Just have to decide on what accessory drive to use, original or a serp set-up of a van. really leaning toward the original.

Steering linkage is on and rear end in place, when my wheels get painted next week and tires mounted I will move it over to the drive on lift to set the pinion angle and weld the saddles.

We have next week to work on it then off a week for spring break. I think very possibly the week after that. We got the engine painted today minus the water pump. Still trying to decide about which way to go for the accessory drive, if I can find the power steering pump for the original setup, I'll go that way.

Teaching two full double block classes has taken it's toll plus other work that has come into the shop. I don't have a planning period anymore. I still think (hope) we can have it running at least enough to drive it on the trailer to bring it home. Passenger door is done just would like to put a little color on it before we put it back on, hinges have been re-bushed, blasted and primed. Just need color.

FB is the easiest place to do the pic update. I may be at school for a few days next week, don't know how many days I may have left on my contract. I'll do what I can there then bring it home.

Back in the body shop now, got the trim back on the passenger side and the right side mirror. Prepping the fender for paint. Working with my paint supplier on a way to "age" the paint hoping it won't be quite so obvious. Took the hood off and the bottom side is painted and the top is ready for paint. Drivers door off, bottom removed and trimming for donor patch. Door was a little worse than I had thought but think I will still use it.

Playing with paint today and have come up with a possible mix. Red, yellow, black and.......... it's close. Will reduce it with lacquer thinner and apply it in thin coats. Will at some point will scuff it all and shoot it with some clear.

Changed the formula a little, resprayed then blocked. Not perfect (not that it was supposed to be) but close to the desired effect.
