Post LASCOTTS K10 Suburban Build
Figured I would let you Tennessee folks whats see what going on down south. I have been working on this truck on and off for about 7yrs. I am closing in on finishing and hope to be driving it sometime next year. The truck is a 72 K10 Suburban. Instead of posting pics of everything I have done so far I will fill in the blanks first. The truck has a 6 " lift, Tuned Port 350 with 700r4 tranny going to a NP205 transfer case. The previous owner had cut a sun roof in it and port holes in both rear quarters so his bird dogs could get some fresh air  The frame and drivetrain are complete and the body work is very close. Just painted interior and the back sides of the fenders this past weekend. A couple friends came by today and we sat the body back on the frame and this is how it sits now.

Painted the inside of the 3 doors, steering column, ash tray, glove box lid, all hinges for doors. tailgate and lift gate and a radio delete plate yesterday. Now I just have to put everything back together, redo my engine harness wiring from inside out, finsh brakes and I will be ready to head to the paint booth for some outside color. Would like to have that done before Christmas, but just have to see what time will allow. Taking the afternoon off today and going hunting!!!!!!

Haven`t been able to get to the shop in about a month, too much work and the weather has been horrible. Looks like it will be another two weeks before any real progress is made, I have a house painting job this coming weekend and will be out of town the following weekend. Still think I will be in paint by the summer though.

Got the truck painted last weekend. Turned out pretty good. Mark Walker a fellow LCTC member let me use his paint booth and coached me through the whole process. It turned out pretty good and I am very happy with it.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I had a good teacher that walked me through the process. I think I have caught the painting bug now, I am ready to paint something else now. All the prep work leading up to paint sure bites though.

LOL, I can afford paint
and materials which is
around $1G I was told.

It's those $4G to $8G
estimates that kill the
chance of me doing it

After I get a little more practice you might have to take a long weekend and we could spray it in my shop. Not quite comfortable yet spraying someones hard earned paint money. maybe few more times spraying ill be there as long as you are just looking for nice and not show quality. Thats the difference between hold my beer for a minute and 4-6k. lol

That is awesome. You have proved what I have said for years. Patience is better than 50% of a paint job. Just keep sanding until it is smooth. Good job Scott.
