OMG.....anybody wanna guess what happens when you combine a stout little V8, manual transmission, slightly altered pinion angle on the axle ujoint, and a heavy foot? Answer: probably nothing. Now add one factor: the dumb@$$ that should have checked his ujoints while under the truck to begin with and should have realized his 26 year old joints were shot, but didn't.....picture this: your at the red light. A young kid pulls up in his bulldogged truck, revving away at you. You decide to shut him up. The light turns green, you launch it. HARD. The truck lurches, you feel the back end squat as the energy transfers through the suspension. The truck slams you back in the seat....and suddenly.....BAM!!!!! Now you are being laughed at as you coast to safe place, get out, and walk out to the road retrieve you #&:"%; driveshaft out of the road. Congratulations dumb@$$, you were stupid...twice....

Well, the ol' truck didn't get to go to the show, but she is getting some much needed work done. I've replaced both upper control arms with new pieces, including bushings and ball joints (it was cheaper that way), rebuilt the rear end, painted it and put a shiny chrome cover on it ;-) installed new rear shocks, and finally this week I'll be installing new front brake line, and new rear right parking brake cable...you know, all the stuff NOBODY will ever see or notice, but is neccessary, lol
