the pricing for the 305 version of the LS blocks are going down pretty hard and the power of these engines are comparable with the 350 gen 1 small block

O.k. this is were she stands at the moment..... :drama: :crying: saddens me to have to say this, she was hit in the driver side front from about center of tire forward. about five days later, .... :crying: :crying: she was hit again but this time on the pass. side, this was a hard side swipe that hit the rear quarter just behind the door and the front quarter from the back of the wheel farward. Hope to get some pics soon. I will fix her :LUV: and I am going to update the front cap to an 89-91 model blazer with the dual side by side lights. :drama: :banghead: I wanted to do this swap but I did not want to do it this way   :crying:

At this point in time I have just about everything but I still need the core suport all the way to all the grill and light componets, this also means the radiator brackets, lower valance and wire harness for the lights and possibly the fan shroud

Just got the first est. from state farm.... it seems like they are trying to low ball me, they said the blazer was a total out at about $2,600. At this point I am not happy and have started adding all the mods done the it and have just over $3,000 in mods alone.......... I am very fustrated at the moment and I am waiting for the lawer to call me back.

sorry to hear that on the other hand insurance companies are known for puling stuff like that

maibe if you have all the receipts for the mods you can have an independent evaluator come in and get a better price than bookvalue

you actually had to do that before getting the insurance , you prolly payed the premium for the price there giving you right now

another option might be to get a second blazer and put everything on that one and use the extra cash to repaint it
it might be the better option as the original is now considered totalled and ou never get full value for it again no matter wat you drop intoo it

I have never experienced it but have heard others, give them the list with reciepts and they will usually adjust their figures.

like i said you need to do that ahead of things happening as they usually adjust the monthly payment for the insurance as whell , you might be too late now

if you have more than one insurance through them you might have a little more leverage/ they might be willing to do more for you if it means they keep you as a customer , stay reasonable though shouting isnt going to help

the down fall is this is the other persons insurance paying for the damage .... all I am trying to do is keep them from totaling the blazer out

Craig it is about 3 hours from here I will keep you up dated , I have also talked to Ron and as soon as the ins. company setles with me I need to get over there and pick up the 78 stepside he has over there just not sure how I am getting there yet... I could tak the bike and load it up in the truck but I got to thinking about it and I have no way of unloading the bike when I get back.

Hmmmmm, 3 hours each way = around 250 miles I'm guessing. We might be
able to do that in the 99 with the lil trailer. (Tundra would cost to much gas)

Just lmk, I can run you to Ron's any afternoon with a little advanced notice.

i dont know why you would think its hard to unload a bike if you have a single aluminium ramp like the ones for a cartrailer it shouldnt be too hard to unload the bike as long as it has brakes at least
the hardest part is the loading the bike up the ramp intoo the bed a loadingdock would help there , if you reverse it ontoo the bed you can put the ramp ontoo the bedlid sit on the bike and roll it of at the destination

too bad you dont have airride as whell , if you fill the front up and let the rear off you can basicly use the gate as a ramp

maibe you can back up against some sandhill or use a few haybales/ small logs and a bit of plywood that could work too

I have finaly got the ins. to settle with me, this is how it worked out. They call it a total loss, but because the blazer is over 10 years old and I am keeping it I bought it back and they did not touch the title... I get to make the repairs it needs and keep the title as the original.

be warned that once the insurance considers it total loss you dont get payed again for damages to youre blazer when you have another accident not even when its the other parties fault , you do better to use another (donor) blazer with papers (one with a blown trans or engine shouldnt cost more than wat they pay at the wreckinyard if youre patient) and build the good parts from youre own blazer ontoo that one

good idea and I will look into that, for the time being I am going to get the 78 stepside from Ron I think I might be working on the blazer later down the road but not quite sure what the future holds for it now.

wat the hey they did to that blazer man , it looks like they tried to make it fit like kids do with a square peg and a round hole ...... i hope that wasnt you with a couple of pints too many

the rear quarter will be hard to get too and replace as its welded the front panels should be ok to replace these bolt on and it looks like you managed to not dent the grille and headlight trim maibe youre even able to safe the bumpers with some careful bending and a plastic mallet . to bad about the trim though that stuff is hard to find
it still might be cheaper and faster to find another cheap but good body with blown motor for it and put the motor and perhabs he interiour from this one in it
