Post Project: "Motorwheel Spyder Mags"
Very few of you know I have these. Well my Dad gave me the Green light
to go ahead and get them. (Only thing I asked for in his Will) They are in
desperate need of Restoring and I have no idea where to begin. Hardest
part is going to be deciding on tires, they are 14 x 6 & 4.75 bolt pattern.
I don't have them home yet so no actual pictures, but here is a 70's ad
and some Evil Bay links to what these bad boys look like and are worth.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Spy ... 255e89ae8b
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor-Wh ... 2e9251b96b
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PAIR-MOT ... 43a2a39fa3
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-14x6-V ... 3f04326bd3

Dad said he bought them around 1970 for $120 (4 wheels and 3 cones)
He later found 4 Cones for $20 through a buddy. (7 total) To me they're
PRICELESS and will never be sold. (He had them on a 1967 Camaro )

Will be expensive to restore, would you? or run em vintage condition?

Now what do I put these on?

:drama:

Thought about that, also thought about adapters
where I could use them, and also thought about
finding an older Camaro, Firebird, or Corvair also.

I plan too, just thinking down the road, the
wheels aren't going anywhere and paid for.

I think 14 x 6 wheels would kill the look :floored:

lol, if anything it would have Redline tires on them
if I go for the nostalgic look. (Not a WW fan at all)

OOOOH! Never thought about redlines! They would look pretty sweet. I'm not a big fan of WW tires either, especially on anything newer than '62.

Yeah Matt, I was on Coker Tire's site just looking around
at WWalls and PolyG's when I saw the Red Line's 4 sale.

I figured them or BFG KDW's if I want aggressive looks!

The redlines look good on the right car....I've got a buddy with a set on a 67 Chevelle convertible. I just don't know if they're worth the coin that they charge for em though. But if that's the look you're going for...you gotta step up.

My Cadillac needs a double whitewall to look correct. That's a thin white stripe next to the wheel, a black stripe and then another thin white stripe....they're expensive to....probably not gonna happen.

Speaking of Coker, did anyone know they have a museum? David went back in the spring and it's really neat and get this they want you to touch the cars!

I got to check out Mr Cokers Museum during the power tour. It's a pretty cool place. Dude has motorcycles stacked up to the ceiling.
