Won't be ready for Ron's- hopefully Woody's. My wife asked me Sunday morning- "where are you going today" Actually it has been a stress reliever as things at work have been pretty hectic and working on Project Underhaulin' and my truck has been very helpful.

The fun begins- I had only about a 1/4 inch clearance between my tall covers and the firewall and since I wanted to keep the tall valve covers, I needed to come up with another plan. After several inquiries, we slotted the hole in the perches where the motor mount attaches. Problem solved- now have about 3/4 an inch or so clearance. Well then we started looking at the PS pump and it didn't look just right. Not much clearance to the frame and it seemed out of line. Pulled the DS motor mount where the SWP PS bracket attaches and compared it to the old one. (These are the slice of bread looking type mounts). The new one had alot more rubber covering the area where the PS bracket attaches. After much inquiry (again), I trimmed the excess rubber and the PS bracket fit fine, nice and close. WELLL, we went to snug up the motor mounts and couldn't for the life of us get the bolt that attaches the motor mount to the perch to start. We ended up having to pull the motor mount again and retap it as it was not correctly threaded from the factory. Finally got it put back together about 10:30 last night. Oh yeah since I am adding PS I had to go with a double groove pulley. Got a good deal on a cranckase one from Speedway, but then found out you have to also change the WP pulley 'cause they are different sizes. Getting it done though- will post some pics soon.

Update of progress-
I cut and repinned the shaft, buttoned everything up and hooked up the hoses so the steering column complete.
Have braided stainless tranny lines ordered from Jeg's that are supposed to be here the first of the week.
Radiator hoses and vacuum lines are all installed.
Driveshaft is at my brother-in-laws to get cut and balanced.
I picked up an in-line aluminum tranny cooler at the Grand the other week. Made brackets for it and installed it tonite.

Left to do-
Install:
starter
tranny lines
complete tranny cross member
tranny linkage
driveshaft

Then VROOOM, VROOOM

Plumbed my Trans cooler yesterday. Went with braided lines from Jeg's. Had to get some additional fittings from The Hot Rod Barn in Knoxville (neat place) and Jerry's Speed Shop in Morristown. When I was at Jerry's he had his blown '65 Vette there- sweet.

IT RUNS...IT RUNS :punk:
Last week got my starter installed after having to switch- the first one I had (3510 MS) for some reason- I could not get it to shim up- took it back and got a new one (3510) and it engaged fine. For a trans xmember- took one from an '81 Camaro. Had to shorten it and re-drill holes in it and the frame. - did that last weekend. Also ran some temporary shorty pipes from the manifolds just to get the exhaust away from the block some. My plan was to get the trans xmember in tonite and then crank it up this weekend. Well I got the trans member in ok and then my buddy says- see if it will at least spark.... Well it did. Fired right up and was sounding good. Ran it for about 10 minutes or so and then went to set the timing. Started to adjust the distributor when zzzzzinggg. In our haste we forgot to secure the cap on the distributor and the metal piece on the rotor went flying... Didn't hurt the cap- so tomorrow will get a new rotor and hopefully finish breaking in the cam. The Edelbrock seemed to be loading up- so I may switch to a Holley. I rebuilt the Edelbrock, but it hasn't been tweaked yet. We will see.

Had to put on a new alternator since my pretty chrome one is bad... I will have to find my receipt where I bought it- but I think it was on Ebay. I went ahead and pulled the Edelbrock and put on the Holley 600. Finishe breaking in the cam tonite and she sounds great.
