Post Using a double acting brake booster in place of larger 11"
I am installing a 292 L6 in my 1968 C20 which currently has the larger original (and I think 11") brake booster. I am using a offenhauser intake and a Holley 390 4 barrel and finding that the Holley will not clear the booster. I have read that the smaller double acting booster will work but may require a different bracket. Has anyone done this swap and what booster did you use and what bracket?

Thanks, Jerry

It's actually a "dual diapghram" booster and I think is roughly 9" in diameter. I don't know about the bracket, not heard of them being different. Seems like I've heard they were mostly used on the 69-70 3/4 and 1 tons.

Thanks for the correction.. I knew "double acting" didn't sound right... just a small brain blip! Will look into the 9" booster and see if there is enough clearance.

Ahh! That's what it's called, a brain blip. Now I feel better.
