Post New exhaust
I finally changed out my old leaky exhaust system for a new system. This time, though, I had an X-pipe installed and changed from the Flowmaster Super 40's to Magnaflow mufflers. The sound difference is amazing. It's ALOT quieter now with the Mags, but almost too quiet in a way. I had it done Saturday morning, but forgot my camera. I got some pics last night while changing my oil, and finally got them uploaded.

I'll try to get a sound clip of it soon. Most of you will get to hear it this weekend at the SETN.

Looks like nice work. That seems to be becoming a lost art among other things.

Yes it's hard to find a good exhaust guy. When you do find them, they're usually expensive or only work a few hours. The place that did this has lots of mixed reviews, but they've always done good work on my stuff. I think alot of it depends on what you bring in, what you want done to it, and how much you're willing to spend. The particular guy that did it has been with the company for 21 years. He asked me to check every bend he made to make sure it's what I wanted.

I was gonna take it to a guy in Newport, but he doesn't work Saturdays, and I didn't want to take an extra 1/2 to full day off work since I'm only working a 1/2 day Friday this week. He's been doing exhaust work in the same location since he was about 18 or 19. He's in his 50's or 60's now. I've seen some very nice work that he's done.

The bottom of your truck is cleaner than the top of mine.

I'm not seeing any heat shields ... or are they there? Don't be that guy with the bed floor that looks great everywhere except... over his mufflers.

Aside from that... it looks tip-top bro!

No heat shields, Asa. I've not had any for the past three years with the old system and it never did any damage. I'll keep an eye on it and if I start to see any problems, I'll take care of it.

It looks good. Next time though get in touch with me i can save you some money over what Quick-O charges. My dad has a shop in seymour and the fella that does the exhaust there is very good. They just x-piped and magnaflowed my lemans, it is a lot quieter than the flowmasters but has good sound.
