Post Staggered Tires VS. Same Size
Travis and I were talking about this last night so I just want some
more opinions. (I trust you Travis, lol) The rims I got to put on the
81 are all the SAME SIZE. I have bought 4 tires all the SAME SIZE,
but I also have a chance to get a set of wider/taller ones for rear.

The 4 I have are 26.7 tall, 9.6" sec, 8.8" thread (Close, Rims are 9.5)

The 2 I can get are 29.4 tall, 11.9" sec, 10.8" thread (Rims are 9.5)

The pic below is with the 20/22's, but because of the wheels the
tire heights are about the same so it would sit like this but with
more meat in the rear and give it the sorta "Pro-Street" look to it.

Sooooooooooooooo, Would you run staggered or all same size?

:fb:

PS - Yes I'd have 2 left over if I buy 2 more, don't forget "Donkey"

I personally like the staggered look and was planning that with mine. I'm not a big fan of staggered rims although the 20/22's look fine. 20/18's make the fronts look tiny IMHO. But the extra meat in the rear looks good to me.

Thanks, I think. Yea it would be 20's front and rear, just the
rears would be a lil taller and much wider. It would sit about
like the pic above as far as rake, bumper height, etc..........

IMO a 9.5" wheel with a 8.8" tread width isn't going to look very good on a static dropped truck. I have all the same size wheels on DD but with 195s in front and 275s in back.

That was the other reason I was thinking staggered. They
might look ok up front, but in the rear they will look goofy.

I always kept the same size on my daily's just for ease of rotation but prefer staggered esp on my toys, i love having as much meat as can be packed in under the rear as possible.

I vote staggered. Just don't get too outrageous. That's my opinion.

I like the staggered look cuz it is indicative of good ol' fashion hotrod styling. Every old classic I've ever owned has gotten the staggered look  My truck is staggered, and once I get it lowered on or around the 14th of this month I think it will look righteous! Of course I'm a little biased... :floored:

Just a little diagonal to the horzontal.
